6 Luxury Candles You Need in Your Life ASAP
So let me just start off by saying… I am a self-identified candle enthusiast. It’s an addiction. Truly.
As of lately, I’ve really been exploring all types of candles, but in particular, luxury candles… and let me tell, they are worth the hype! Don’t get me wrong, I’m ALL for the Bath & Body Works’ 3-wick sales…I live for those sales when they come by. However, I’ve also learned that splurging on a luxury candle here and there never hurt anybody.
Personally, I’m a believer in treating yourself, and if the little luxuries in life can spark up some joy here and there, then why the heck not?! It’s the little things.
No, I’m not saying you should splurge on material things seeking some sort of a means for happiness… that comes from within. :) I’m saying that throughout my experience with trying numerous candles, I have found luxury candles to be the highest of quality for a number of reasons:
The Burn Time: Luxury candles burn significantly longer than the generic candle. For example, Bath and Body Works’ candles burn time ranges from 25-45 hours. In comparison, a luxury candle brands burn time is approximately 80 hours.
The Smoke: I don’t know about you, but with cheaper candles I always get plumes of smoke residue either while burning or blowing them out. In contrast, with more expensive candles there seems to be little to no residue at all. Most luxury candles are vegan, cruelty free, etc. This can also be a considerable factor whilst hoping to refrain from smoke residue buildup. NOTE: Trimming the wick will help to minimize smoke residue.
The Scent: I have found that luxury candle brands offer a variety of scents that last the entire burning period. Not only do these scents smell amazing, but they also fill the room more significantly than a generic candle would.
The Display: I am most drawn to candles with a chic, transparent display. In particular, I find these jars to showcase the golden glow of the wick quite beautifully, all while creating a warming ambiance in your home. TIP: Luxury candle jars can later be recycled into beautiful home decor and DIY jars.

#1. Maison Louis Marie/No. 04 Bois de Balincourt $45
Earthy + Woody
Notes of:Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Vetiver, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Amberwood
This is probably one of my favorite candles in the history of candles. Not only is the scent to die for, but the burn time is lengthy and the packing is so chic.
Fun fact: The RealReal is known to burn this candle throughout their stores.
Notes of: Cassis, Bergamot, Black Pepper,
White Rose
Oakmoss, Musk, Tonka
This candle smells like a floral bouquet enveloped with a peppery fragrance. This scent is so serene and will make you feel like you’re at a luxury spa any day of the week.
Notes of: Orange studded, Cloves, Candied peels, Delicious scents of winter
This candle is a go-to, especially over the crisp winter season. Its scent warms up any room, and is the perfect combination of sweet + spicy. This is in my top 3 favorites!
#4. Diptyque/Figuier $68
Fruity
Notes of: Fig wood, Freshness of fig leaves, Milky sap, Green notes
This candle has high-quality written all over it. (Let’s be real, all Diptyque candles do.) Figuier is one of my favorite scents because it is incredibly fresh and inviting. This candle will be the center of attention during an evening in with friends!
#5. Voyage et Cie/Jerusalem Pomegranate $56
Citrus
Pomegranate, combined with vanilla, raspberry, plum, pink pepper, white patchouli, and spicy woods.
When I first encountered this candle I was captivated by its sweet, feminine scent. Let me tell ya, it is FABULOUS. This candle is a gem in itself. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
#6. Le Labo/Santal 26 $75
Smoky + Leathery
Amber, coco, vanilla, cedar, spices, musk, sandalwood
It’s no surprise people are raving about this candle all over the internet. Its unique scent offers a transcendent, invigorating experience that’ll transport you and your senses to another realm. Call it a vacation at home, if you will.
